Letter To My Younger Self

Firstly, Let me congratulate you.

Congratulations for surviving all the trials, pain, and trauma. Best believe it was all worth it. You would be glad to know that your boy is doing super great now.

You endured all the crazy times with all sorts of names they gave you for not fitting in their cliques which drove you into all kinds of depressions. Look at you today being adored for being different. You must be happy knowing all that didn’t break you but made you this fierce being that you’re today.

Do you Remember Failing that paper and going for a supplementary exam? What about that heartbreak that turned you into a great writer, mental health advocate, and a motivational speaker? Oh yeah, and that family drama that led to being cut off from the family? All that strengthened you, “Blessings in Disguise” we may call them.

Just so you know, that movement you started is now Touching lives and helping people actualize their dreams.

I’m indebted to you for making all the bad and few right choices along the way that shaped the person you’ve become. Today is much better and brighter because you never gave up on your dreams. Today is greater because you chose to Dance in the rain while the storm was raging.  I applaud you for remaining firmly inclined to your choices but even more importantly for choosing to be exuberant, serene, and benevolent at all times.

Last but not least, Look at you… What a brave choice, choosing God and let Him lead you. You have come a long way and today I just wanted to congratulate you and let you know that I would do everything you did without changing a thing, given a chance to do it all over.

You are a very rare breed Axsee, Real MCM they actually don’t make men like you anymore, embrace everything that makes you different from the rest, coz that’s your power. There’s so much more we can seat down to laugh about you and I, but for now let me just say am proud of you.

The future looks so bright and I owe it all to you.

 Yours sincerely,

Present self.
