Sneak peek into 2020

Hie fam, so it’s been a minute, hope you good?
So for my last blog of 2019, I just wanted us to have a review of the year. Flip back to page one of the book of 2019 as we fast approach day 365…. How has your 2019 been?

Many are the times we set out New Year resolutions, you know those 3/5 months lasting resolutions but knee deep into the year when life either gets real or too exciting then we forget them all and just live with what we have left. Pastor Esau Banda said and I quote, “improvement is a product of review”, it takes high quality review to register for high quality improvement. So before we step into 2020 I would like us to make a quick review of 2019.
You ready? LET’S TALK ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I get into the tips of reviewing a year, let me just put it out that God is the mastermind of reviews. He created this whole globe that we live in and everything in it, He had to make some serious reviews; actually yesss it took high quality review to make sure your nose was the size it is kkkkkk lol.
In the first chapter of Genesis, we see God creating the earth and every time/day he created something He had to review it. The bible doesn’t record this but I personally believe kumakhala tchito yochiyangana, zoom it in and out, checking ma layers (graphic designers get it) and a whole lot of things before He could come to that conclusion “It was good”. I mean you just don’t come to a conclusion that what you have created is good usanachizukute, God clearly/deeply looked into His creation before saying it’s good. After coloring the water blue , trees green, sun yellow etc, He then decided to make mankind and for the first time after 5 days of creating and its good , its good, God said it’s not good. He created man and said it’s not good for man to live alone. wait, hold up….. God who told you that it’s not good? Like how did He notice that it was not Good. He noticed because he was now and again reviewing His work and after reviewing man, He saw the fault and improved it.

As we step into 2020, I would like us to carefully and clearly review our 2019 if we want to get results out of our plans. If God did this exercise why not us?…

Things to do during the review process.

Get back to the original plan
So pomuyamba 2019 after shouting 2019 is my year at that crossover service or party (depending where you crossed over kkkkk lol), what plans did you lay down for the year? If you’re a student like me, I believe you had some academic goals, ka GPA tinakaponya pati pati? For my other friends, the 2018/19 fresh graduates what career goals did we had? What about business goals? Did we innovate and start our own small business after finding out how cruel the world is? Ministry and spiritually did we achieve our goals? Family, friendship and relationships how did we handle these throughout the year? Did you plan to self-develop in something out of school or work, health wise..,.. what were your health goals for 2019? Develop a potbelly or sliming tea wamwedwa?
So you get to ask you self all these questions, did I achieve my goals, how did I achieve them or what happened for me to fail? What went wrong? What should I do different?. These question will give you answers to how 2020 has to be handled .

Rethink the approach
Even God did this, He injected a second thought in the idea of man living alone and it didn’t seem nice. For both the great things and bad things of 2019, if we are to thrive even more in 2020. We need to rethink the approach to our original plans and switch them up as we develop new ones. How can I improve myself at what I do? What new skills do I need to obtain? Remember the goal is to keep improving and developing and not vice versa.
A great example of someone who used this approach is the prodigal son, Luke 15: 17-20. After a review in verse 17, the youngster realized he was on wrong path he then switched up his approach and decided to head back home.
Don’t be discouraged with poor results
So a lot of people tend to have a tendency of being disappointed by their own poor results and then give up. Let this not be your case. Let your poor results be another reason to try even harder, put in extra effort. When a reporter asked Thomas Edison “how did it feel to fail 1000 times?” Edison replied “the bulb was an invention with 1000 steps”

Great success in built on failures, frustration and even catastrophies

So the fact that this year didn’t go as planned, let that not be a reason for you to quit… Lets restructure those plans and give them another try but this time with around with a different approach.

Celebrate the small victories
Embrace a grateful attitude by celebrating even those your smallest accomplishments. Don’t kill yourself in by worrying about those things you didn’t accomplish. Celebrate God you’re still alive, thats an achievement you didnt even labour for. That’s all you need to start over, you still have the opportunity to be creative and achieve greatness.

Be upbeat for the coming year
Develop a new game plan for the New Year. It may be an upgrade from the previous plan or a whole new plan but whatever the case, be upbeat and ready for the New Year.

Thats all i had for you for these last days of the 2019, i hope you find this piece useful and most importantly I hope you become that game changer you’ve always wanted to be this new year.
See you in 2020, HAPPY NEW YEAR IN ADVANCE.
